Niklas Danielsson is a Senior Immunization Specialist with UNICEF HQ. He studied medicine and trained in pediatrics at Karolinska Institute Stockholm and has a Master’s of Science in Epidemiology from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He worked for WHO for many years with a focus on child health and maternal health, and contributed to the development of the Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses strategy. Before joining UNICEF in 2016, he worked for 6 years on communicable disease surveillance and epidemic intelligence at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). In UNICEF, his focus is on coverage and equity of vaccination services, ensuring that the benefits of vaccinations are extended to every child everywhere.
