Elsa Laurin is a child protection professional, currently based in Nairobi, working as Senior Child Protection Officer in UNHCR Office of the Regional Refugee Coordinator since 2016. She covers countries affected by the South Sudan and Burundi refugee situation. She has over 15 years of experience working in emergency and development contexts in the Balkans, Central Asia, South East Asia and the Middle East, with both UNHCR and UNICEF. Elsa specializes in strengthening national child protection systems including in emergency response, child protection case management, and coordination. She has a Master’s Degree in International Humanitarian Action (NOHA) and Peacebuilding from Aix-Marseille University and Uppsala University.
