Michael Nicholson is an economist with the United State Agency for International Development. A native of Lexington, Kentucky, currently based in Nairobi, Kenya, he has worked as a contractor or Foreign Service Officer in Armenia, El Salvador, Egypt, Liberia, and Pakistan. A former professor, with a doctorate in economics from the University of Colorado, he has taught at Georgetown University, the University of Maryland, the American University of Armenia, as well as his undergraduate alma mater, Transylvania University. His passions include mountain climbing, basketball, and the written word.
