Dan Klinck

Dan is the Founder and CEO of East African Power (EAP), a renewable energy development and holdings company based in Rwanda aiming to develop 500MW across Sub Saharan Africa by 2030. EAP is focused on utility-scale hydro and solar projects and Dan serves as a Director of several investment and project companies. EAP holdings include a portfolio of energy companies that provide development, engineering, project management, EPC and O&M services in the market. Dan founded and serves as chairman for Empowering Villages, a nonprofit organization, which has a focus on minigrids and economic development and is active in developing more than 10 projects in East Africa.

 

Dan frequently contributes his first-hand project development expertise in renewable energy conferences, sharing his enthusiasm for expanding access to clean energy in Africa. He is passionate about building local capacity in the sector and serves as Vice-Chairman of Rwanda's Energy Skills Council. Dan serves as Chair of the Hydropower Committee and as Executive Secretary of Rwanda's Energy Private Developers Association. Dan holds a BBA in Finance and Major in Economics from the Williams School of Business, Bishop's University. Dan enjoys mountaineering and is working towards climbing the 7 summits.
