As part of the Aid & Development Africa Summit 2017 that took place in Nairobi, Kenya, Planet of the Apps presented the latest mobile applications that support Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to over 300 senior representatives and advisors from government and UN agencies, international and regional NGOs, CBOs, investors and donors, research institutes and the private sector in East Africa.

Conceived for mobile phones, Agribusiness TV is the first web TV dedicated to African youth who innovate and succeed in agriculture. Agribusiness TV wants to show a positive image of agriculture by documenting success stories, innovations and lessons learned from youth initiatives in agricultural entrepreneurship.

E-ukulima is a web based online platform that enables farmers in Africa to interact with other stakeholders in the agricultural sector such as the buyers of farm produce, agricultural related government agencies, NGOs supporting agriculture, suppliers of farm input such as machinery. Farmers can access information on the best prices of farm produce in the market, good practice and trainings schedules.
E-Ukulima improves farmers’ efficiency and revenue, eradicates middlemen and allows effective distribution of resources and aid.
Share The Meal is an initiative of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP). It’s the world’s first app fighting global hunger. For $0.50, you can share a meal with a hungry child with just a tap on your phone.

ETC Reporter is a mobile application dedicated to support field personnel during disaster relief and rescue operations. It empowers the user to report information in a timely and efficient manner in order to increase situational awareness and support the decision taking processes. Its main use is to collect information (such as pictures, comments, videos and symbols) and link them to specific locations. The information is shared with remote headquarters and made accessible via Pulse™ Web.
