Nominations for Africa Innovator of the Year are open!

Aid & International Development Forum are pleased to open nominations for the Africa Innovator of the Year Award 2019.

This competition celebrates individuals as well as teams who have introduced game-changing initiatives, created research or inventions that have made an impact on the humanitarian aid and development sectors in Africa over the past year.

The aim is to recognise individuals for their inspiring leadership, forward-thinking, creative problem-solving and implementation of innovative programmes that have helped drive the African progress towards Sustainable Development Goals.

The finalists will be showcased at the AIDF Africa Summit and the winner of the award will be announced on 26 February 2019 at the AIDF Africa Summit in Nairobi, Kenya.

The nominees will be judged on their inspiring innovation, proven impact and success. Nominees should exhibit a thoughtful, creative and innovative approach to resolving humanitarian and development challenges in Africa over the past year.

The initiatives, research or inventions that nominees have introduced or implemented should also demonstrate a positive impact on solving humanitarian aid and development challenges in Africa and nominees should be looking to enhance and grow the impact of their initiatives to accelerate Africa’s progress towards Sustainable Development Goals, including future plans to take their idea to the next level.

Nominations are open to individuals who work within the humanitarian aid and development sector.

The award winner will benefit from extensive media coverage and industry recognition for their achievements in humanitarian aid and development.

Last year we were delighted to present Carolyne Ekyarisiima, Founder, Apps and Girls, with the Innovator of the Year Award for her role in teaching girls technology and entrepreneurship skills and encouraging them to find digital solutions to the problems they face in their communities.
