Short Bio Data Miriam Maluwa 1. Miriam Maluwa is a trained and practiced Attorney At Law (Bachelor of Laws LL.B (Hons.) & Masters of Laws (LL.M), specialising in international Economic Law & Masters of Law, specialising in Legislative drafting. 2. Miriam Maluwa has 30 years extensive work experience at national and international levels and expert knowledge in Law, human rights, Policy & strategy, including in Health & HIV 3. She has worked with UNAIDS for the past 18 years and currently serves as Country Director, UNAIDS Ethiopia 4. Diplomacy has been at the core of Miriam Maluwa’s professional work as a lawyer, a previous member of the UN Human Rights Commission as well as the Country Director of UNAIDS responsible for countries with differing political, social and cultural frameworks 5. Previous professional positions include:  UNAIDS Country Representative for Jamaica, The Bahamas, Cuba & Belize  Head of the Legal & Human Rights Unit, UNAIDS  Chief, Office of Security & Humanitarian Affairs, UNAIDS  Senior Adviser, Policy & Programme, Office of the Director, Political & Public Affairs Branch (PPA  Team Leader, in the Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights  Legal practitioner (10 years 1986-1996) 6.
